Chicory has found its way into the RSPB Conwy High Tide Collection as it is a species that is new to the reserve, and it is believed that their seeds may have been washed here from farther up the valley by high tides. This periwinkle-blue flower is a member of the dandelion family and has long been cultivated and used as a food, its leaves as salad and now it makes a feast for the eyes as a Moorcroft design. Large tidal waves of calming, cobalt-blue petals burst into centre stage and lobed toothed leaves, similar in form to dandelions, float effortlessly around the vase. A high tide in Moorcroft design indeed.
