Steiff The Junglebook Set

The Jungle Book was the final animated film to be produced by Walt Disney himself, in 1967. Walt Disney sought to make his version of The Jungle Book a lot more upbeat than the Rudyard Kipling-penned. The songwriters wanted a jazz sound, with a Dixieland-like melody. When the idea for “I Wan’na Be Like You” was first thought up they married this with the image of an ape who swings from a tree, and he’s the king of the apes. And the famous scene was born. Steiff have triumphed with King Louie and Baloo capturing this iconic performance.
