Moorcroft Orange Tree October 2024 Miniature

Morris and Co’s Orange Tree embroidered panel (c.1923) saw a richly laden tree adorned with ripe oranges, below which clumps of irises, peonies, primroses and tulips bloom. The Orange Tree symbolised fertility and love and Rachel’s love of Arts and Crafts shines through in this miniature where pale blue acanthus style leaves float beneath the orange tree itself creating a wave like effect.
