Emma has always found wrens to be fascinating birds. Inconspicuously dressed in subtle shades of fawn and brown, their minute size and fast movement make them hard to follow. The Moorcroft wren has just feasted on red hawthorn berries and yet is still reluctant to leave its feast. Instead, it prefers to remain hidden in a canopy of whispering green leaves, all of them about to turn into autumnal colours as summer moves its lazy way into autumn.
