The legend recounts how Aeolus, father of Alcyone, would calm the winds and seas every January, allowing his daughter—transformed into a kingfisher—to safely build her nest. This myth gave rise to the term "Halcyon Days," symbolising a period of peace and blissful contentment.
The lid of this exceptional box beautifully depicts Alcyone swooping down over her beloved Ceyx. Handcrafted in England by Halcyon Days’ master artisans, this box marks the 49th edition of their cherished annual tradition.
