King Charles III has for many years been known to have a personal favourite flower – the delphinium. He is recorded as saying “I have an absolute passion for delphiniums – and I’ve always had it”. Designer, Nicola Slaney, encapsulates his passion in this elegant Goviers exclusive jug featuring a bouquet of delphiniums with some in shades of pure white, and others a soft blue, mauve mix – colours recognised to symbolise youth and renewal. May’s coronation is a new chapter in the life of the British Monarchy, with the institution’s renewal for a new generation with King Charles on the throne.

On the accompanying plaque, Nicola has added white phlox flowers with dark purple centres and pale leaves - a cottage garden plant which sets off the soaring delphinium above to perfection. Delpiniums, are wonderful bold, striking flowers symbolising positivity. When the then Prince Charles, was asked about his favourite flower prior to 2020's virtual Chelsea Flower Show, he revealed his 'passion' for the bloom. "For me, the magnificent, gloriously apparelled delphinium, with its impeccable bearing and massed in platoons, holds pride of place in my botanical affections" At Highgrove, the family home of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Consort, the elegant Sundial Garden has a stone sundial at its centre and beds planted with platoons of blue, pink and purple delphiniums.
