Belleek Queens Basket

A larger version of this specially designed, hand made oval handled Belleek basket was presented in 2012 by the then First Minister Peter Robinson, to Her majesty The Queen as a gift from the people of Northern Ireland to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee. Goviers are delighted to have secured three scaled down replica baskets. Both the original and the replica Queens Royal Gift Baskets were designed by Claire Rowe and created by Belleek Master craftsman John Doogan. This unique basket has been inspired by wild flowers, honey bees, butterflies, ladybirds and dragonflies with a few of Belleek's trademark shamrocks and a lucky four leaf clover. Flax, representing the Irish linen industry, bluebells, honeysuckle, primroses, fuchsia, daisies and wild roses adorn this fabulous basket.
The “Belleek Masterpiece Collection” is a celebration of the craft of creating Belleek and the wonderful legacy of great and varied design styles since the company was founded, over one hundred and sixty years ago, in 1857. A Masterpiece stamp emphasises the excellence and significance of every piece in this exquisite collection.
