The crowning glory to Goviers' Elephant family is Raj - The King. This truly majestic piece is being produced in a signature and colourway edition of just 450. When the piece is introduced into the general range, the headband will be a different colour. Goviers' edition of 450 will have a special gold backstamp incorporating the signature of Tien Manh Dinh. It will be accompanied by a numbered certficate. Hilary Walker, who modelled the elephant family, will be showing the prototye of Raj at our event in January. Initial deliveries of Raj are scheduled for the end of February and will take until the end of April to complete.
Designed in the style of traditional Indian art, these Royal Crown Derby elephant paperweights are exclusive to Govier's of Sidmouth. The decoration has a rich symbolism using colour and pattern. The lotus flower is the national flower of India and the water lily shows life and purity. The colours represent the Indian lifestyle: bright green is the colour of fertile land and tropical forests. Red and pink symbolise passion and energy and gold is the colour of harvest and spring festival. Black is used to safeguard against evil.
