80th Anniversary of Operation Overlord 6 June 1944 - 30 Aug 1944 Victory at all costs. On the front of the tankard the Allied aircraft that took part in the air operations on D-Day in June 1944 are shown with their black and white invasion stripes. Spitfire fighter markings are incorporated into the top border around the rim of the tankard. A line drawing of a British landing craft, with cameos of General Eisenhower, Lord Mountbatton and Sir Winston Churchill encapsulate the significence of Operation Overlord. On the reverse of the tankard a map of the landings with flags signifying the countries who took part in the D-Day landings alongside a lone silhouette of a parachuter remind us of the enormity of D-Day.
