To commemorate the Bicentennial of the Battle of Trafalgar and the life of Nelson, we have commissioned Royal Crown Derby to produce the Admiral Lord Nelson pub. A one-off model that will not be used again, the pub is based on a typical Georgian public house with the upper front window designed to resemble the captain's gallery on the upper deck of the stern of a warship of the period.
Using beautiful turquoise and cream colouring, Louise Adams has decorated the pub with references to Nelson and Trafalgar. A billboard poster reproduces the Times Newspaper of 7 November 1805 announcing the capture of the foreign fleets and the death of Nelson. The opposite side wall has the flags that represent Popham's Telegraphic code for "England Expects" which was the start of Nelson's famous pre-battle signal to his fleet.
