Robin Brooks
Robin's success as a maritime painter owes much to his unrelenting quest for authenticity and historical accuracy. Every picture is painstakingly researched as he seeks to achieve a unique reality in his painting. As a result, he only produces a few original oil paintings each year, the majority of which are expensive private commissions. However, the recreation of these works of art as limited edition fine art prints means that they can be enjoyed and appreciated by a much wider audience.

'The Defining Moment' - Trafalgar 1805 Giclee on Canvas Framed Limited Edition 100

The 'Defining Moment' is the first in Robin Brooks' Trafalgar series and is the culmination of an incredible give year research project and has been his greatest ever undertaking! The project has included the construction of numerous models and a large stage-set of the battle. This has enabled him to visualise the complexities of the subject in three dimensional form and bring this most demanding of battle scenes graphically and accurately to life.

'The Power and the Glory' Giclee on Canvas Framed Limited Edition 200

The second of Robin's Trafalgar series shows the Nelson's Victory flying yellow over red identification pennants from her main masthead. Thomas Atkinson, the Victory's Master wrote in the log: 'Fresh breezes and sqaully with rain in the third reef of top sails...' The Conqueror 74 guns can be seen off Victory's post beam, beyond her is the Achille 74 guns. On the extreme left horizon there is a suggestion of the frigate Euryalus. Within a little over 24 hours 102 of the Victory's crew of 850 will be wounded and 57 dead including Lord Nelson himself and Trafalgar and the Victory will pass into immortality.
